We continue north, climbing over rugged highlands near Mt. Kulal, a cool forested refuge contrasting the heat below.

Descending into Loiyangalani, the wind hits different: warm, dry, and whispering stories from Lake Turkana, known as the Jade Sea for its mystical green hue.Optional boat ride to see crocodiles and volcanic islands.

This is the soul of the adventure full day crossing one of the driest and most dramatic landscapes in East Africa. It’s a day that will leave sand in your shoes and stars in your eyes.The name “Chalbi” means bare and salty in the Gabbra language, and you’ll quickly see why.

But it’s not just salt pans, the eastern rim of Chalbi hides a surprising secret: sand dunes. Towering, smooth, and golden, these desert dunes rise dramatically from the salt plains, sculpted by wind and time. And yes—you can climb them, slide down, take panoramic photos, or just sit still and soak in the stillness.

Leaving the dry expanse behind, we drive into the highlands of Marsabit, a mountain shrouded in cloud and folklore.

Visit the fabled Lake Paradise—a hidden crater lake tucked deep inside the Marsabit Forest Reserve, where elephants roam in silence and birdlife is abundant.

Optional: Visit local Borana villages and crater edge viewpoints

One Last Sunrise – The Long Road Home

After breakfast, we make our way back to Nairobi—winding through green farms, wildlife corridors, and bustling market towns.
